Last year, we embarked upon a project with EcoVadis to assess the quality of our sustainability management system. The organisation awarded us a Commitment Badge acknowledging our overall score of 54.

While delighted with the outcome, our MD, David Booker, resolved to increase that score in the future by promising to “take action to improve our rating and underline our sustainability credentials.”

Good news! We undertook the assessment again last week and recorded an improvement of four points to 58.

So what is EcoVadis, you may ask? It is a globally trusted provider of business sustainability ratings with a network of more than 150,000 rated companies. That means our higher score carries some weight and clearly demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement.

Here’s how it works. The EcoVadis methodology measures the quality of a company’s sustainability management system through three management pillars: Policies, Actions & Results, with a further seven management indicators within those pillars. The firm then awards a score (from 0 to 100) that reflects that quality.

With 58 under our belt this year, we’ll be looking to push that score upwards again.
